The Best Australian Music Videos, part 2

Part Deux.

Art vs. Science - Higher
Another crazy video from the dance music trio who brought you the video with the mime smackdown. In this one, they jump out of a plane, gatecrash a party and try and save it from the night's entertainment, who are really a group of blue aliens. All in a day's work.

360 feat. Pez - Just Got Started
Rap videos are usually set on dark streets or night clubs, and involve lots of angry scowling and maybe a few women not wearing a lot. This one is in the grounds of a posh country house, with everyone in blazers and cocktail dresses. But things do get weird.

Lisa Mitchell - Clean White Love
Everything about this video is just gorgeous. End of story.

Architecture in Helsinki - Do the Whirlwind
A glorious animated piece of colourful randomess, with ghosts, reptiles, and people floating in bubbles. It's adorable.

Drapht - Rapunzel
Australia has a lot of good hip-hop. Hilltop Hoods, 360, Bliss n Eso, and the newest one - Drapht. Packed with more pop-culture references than you can count (it mentions everything from Sex and the City to Russel Crowe's phone-throwing tantrum), this song's animated video suits it perfectly.

Lenka - Roll With the Punches
A great video to watch if you've had a crap day. All the lyrics being written out in various ways is a simple idea, but it's so cute.

Josh Pyke - The Summer
This has amazing lyrics, like: "And all our days were a sun-drenched haze, while the salt spray crusted on the window panes..." The video captures the nostalgic sadness perfectly, as a man remembers his summer and slowly, well, turns to sand. The guy in the vid isn't Josh Pyke, but he gets a cameo as a man on a TV screen.

The Presets - My People
It's a techno song about the unfair treatment of asylum seekers, and the video is a mind-boggling visual display that must have taken ages to put together.

There's so many more I could have mentioned: Bernard Fanning, Bob Evans, Hilltop Hoods, Bliss n Eso, the Living End....but that's just a selection. Hope you enjoyed it!
